CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT

Van Horn Aviation (VHA), manufacturer of the VHA UH-1H tail rotor blade, has entered into a co-development agreement with Los Angeles-based Helicopter Technology Company for the design, testing, certification and manufacture of an aftermarket UH-1H main rotor blade.

Unlike the composite UH-1H tail rotor blade, the VHA/HTC UH-1H main rotor blade will retain the use of metallic materials. New materials will be used in the spar and root fittings to increase static strength.

The VHA/HTC UH-1H main rotor blade will be interchangeable with the current OEM blade, but will cost less to manufacture

VHA will provide all of the engineering, testing and certification work, while HTC will manufacture the blades once FAA certification is complete. Both companies have a proven track record for successfully bringing aftermarket rotor blades to market.
